Are Tango Lenses Better on Silver?

After seeing lots of pictures, I really can't make up my mind.

Do orange headlight indicators actually look BETTER on a silver car? Does going clear indicators make the front too plain?

I'll be the first to agree that on 90% of colours clear indicators look a million times better, but on silver? What do we all think?

A quick picture for comparison...

Fortunately I have two sets of lights, so I'm going to clear convert one, and not the other, to see how I feel back to back.

In those pictures i'd have to agree. However may be being swayed by the other differences between the 2 such as Black Grills over silver, Nicer alloys and its the pre facelift bumper.

So hard for me to fully decide as the above factors make the top car look nicer overall in my opinion.

Were all on it at lukes soon, a full de-ginge and angel eye conversion and three if us have silver Zeds, will look great. RSJ-Z4......your on it too now i hear

It is going to be a great day. I will have to try and get my new bumper on in time!!

I can see where you are coming from, how about heaven forbid fitting the headlights with the black inners from the 2.5, 2.2, 2.0 just to add a bit of contrast.
And ignore the peeps who say you shouldn't be putting 'lesser' model headlights on a 3.0.

I'm not a fan of the orange on any colour, it dates the front of the car so much. Much prefer the clear....

Tapatalking...

I don't mind them at all on red...

Although, I think clear looks better on Mark's because he has the black grills and matt black reflectors

I would say that on a silver car, silver lenses still look far better. But as indicated above, it is all in the rest of the set-up, which is a matter of individual taste, I reckon. Here are two examples of a mate's degingered Z4 (first picture without aero bumper and with silver grilles) and mine (second picture: areo bumper and black grilles, of which the silver bits were plasti dipped), driving in the same charity parade (of which the theme ironically enough was "orange" ).

By the way - and though this was not your question - a direct comparison between ginger and degingered (albeit still with orange bulbs in clear lenses) on a black car was available in the same charity tour:

See, now on the black I'm a huge fan. On that silver one above, the front looks a little.. washed out? Almost like it's missing something.

I'm going to do one set of mine and see how I feel, I'll end up doing the other if I like them!

Thanks for all the opinions though.

ginger is sooo yesterday,
Ask yourself why did BMW change it on the facelift.

I think lose the ginge. I don't care about it dating the car, what does that matter anyway?
I think it just looks better on the silver.

There is no good amber on any car and even today it seems most new manufacturer/models are launched with amber, just so they can do a mid life facelift and go clear.

Funny to read this and see reference to mirror film on the amber globes. Still works great on mine after 5 years :)

Good observation RJS-Z4.
The front does look a little washed out (like and old dog with a greying muzzle?? :? ) I have not got round to de-gingering and now I may not.
The black inners may be required though................... but then it may look better de-gingered!?

Black inners, de gingered, work well. I'm just not a fan of the black inserts on silver full stop.
