Are isofix or passenger airbag switch retrofitable?

I've been a member for a few weeks but first post..pls excuse any errors

I've been looking for a Z4C for a while and need this pasenger airbag disable option as I'll be taking my little one in the car occasionally. I've been looking at earlier models without it and retrofitting (not going to do a diy job as its a safety feature)

Thanks for everyone's info on this, but unfortunately it seems the dealers now can not order the retrofit kit (I've called several) and a specialist I spoke to said they could 'probably do it' but they would need to see the car first, catch 22 as I need to know if they can do it before I buy one without the option...

I'm going to carry on looking into it (will post more info when I get it), unless anyone has had any success recently finding someone who can do it?

Hi Gilbey1979, welcome!

I can't directly answer you question. I can confirm the lack of availability of a retrofit kit does indeed seem to be the case. You only recourse would be to obtain the parts from a breaker's car. I should think any independent mechanic willing to do wiring work, or perhaps even a car audio specialist, who has a copy of the Wiring Diagram System (WDS) would be able to do this work. There are indications the wiring is in place, so it may be just a case of cutting holes, inserting the devices and connecting the wires. Couldn't say for sure though.

I hope this helps some, good luck with your search.
