Approved Used BMW

Hi Guys

Does anyone know whether BMW will ship a car from one of it's dealerships across to your local dealership if you are interested in purchasing? Or are they generally viewed as independent dealerships? Seen a Z4 I like, but it's 170 miles away!

Thanks

Pete

Only if they are owned by the same group, eg: all Sytner dealers, they don't do inter company, as its competition, I asked the same question of one of the dealers.

Thanks Gookah

I found both cars through the BMW official site as they came up through the same search; so I assume that would mean they are part of the same group?

Edit: One of them is from Dick Lovett, the other is Cooper Norwich, does this mean they would be competing?

For the right motor it may be the best trip of your life! Get a lift there or public transport it and you never know you may have a great 170 mile trip home in your new Zed :driving:

As gookah said, they won't unless if they are part of the same chain;if they aren't,the dealer close to you has to buy the car from them, which they wouldn't really do!

Once again,I have asked the same question from the dealer ;)

Why don't you ask your local dealer to source one for you with the spec you want?if you are going down the AUC route.

P.s: when we say the same group,it means for argument sake they are both Cooper's dealership, notice the dealers name when you do search.if one car is listed by Cooper and the other one by Listers, they won't do it.

Alsi,Coopers Norwich are my local dealer and I'll be there wednesday, which car were you looking at?do you want any info that I can get for you?

Hi Navid

That's really kind of you thanks. The car I'm looking at is below. I'm hoping to test drive the same model at Bristol this week, but could potentially head down there on Thur/Fri to pick up. I'm really interested to know what the general condition is like (seat wear, tyre tred, dings etc). Generally am I right in saying there shouldn't be anything major to be concerned about when buying through AUC? If you were able to take a glance when you're over there I'd be extremely grateful, nothing worse than a 340 mile round trip for a duff!

Your local BMW dealer can get you the car you want from other dealer only if you are prepared to pay the asking price on the internet. You will be asked to pay deposit by your local dealer, then they will go and take the car back to you. Depend on the age of the vehicle, if the car arrives at your local dealer and it is not as described by the first dealer. Your local dealer should fixed the problem and get it sorted between two dealer.

I bought a few BMW over the phone and did not have major problems.

Pete,

No worries,I will have a look and also Ask how flexible are they on prices as when I was looking to buy mine, they were over priced.

Let me know if you need anything specific to check or ask.
