Excellent outcome. Went to Apple shop in Plymouth, they were fantastic. Opened phone and checked for any and liquid damage............ guess what nothing found not even any visible damage inside or out. Tried to reboot and start phone which it would not. All put down to an internal fault. Outcome she came away with a brand new phone which was replaced with no hesitation. Polite and courteous service, highly recommended. 
Next move is to question O2 to find out what their so called service centre 'Anovo' were up to or about. That's going to be interesting. :x
