Apex ARC8 choices

OK I have picked up a pair of 18x10 et 25 ARC8 wheels. Now I need help with what fronts to get and tyre sizes. My thoughts are

1. 18x8.5 et38 the tyres 235 45 18 front and 265 40 18 rear.

2. 18x9 at 42 with 245 40 18 front and 275 35 18 rear.
All comments thoughts welcome. Going on a ZMR by the way.
Thanks

Good info here: http://www.myapexparts.com/2012/05/14/z4-m-test-fitment-ec-7-wheels/

8.5J+35 seems to be the favoured option

I run these ARC 8 s on my Z4M coupe
18x8.5 ET38 front
18x9.5 ET22 rear
with
235/40 front
265/35 rear

I would have thought your 10js would be fine with a 265/35 but you may get some rubbing with a track type tyre as I've often found they run wider. Fronts fit well in that size.

he will prob get away with it as they will slightly stretch the 265 out..... should work nicely. Defo need the tyres you've stated however in terms of aspect ratio...

Yeah I very much doubt a 265/40 or 275/35 would work tbh
Only decent picture i can find, but that's not under full compression by any means. That's on an NS2R tyre, the AD08R I'm on now runs even a little wider.

They have 265 35 18 federal 595 RSR tyres on at the moment. I test fitted them and there seems to be plenty of room around them. I intend to use them as my summer wheels and will fit MPSS or PS 4 tyres. I think i prefer the 235 45 and 265 40 18 with the 8.5x18 ET38 wheel option.

Cool, sounds like you should be fine then. A tyre size conversion suggests the diameter will be about 2.5 cm bigger so assuming that looks ok to you then go for it!
My car has been lowered a bit on Eibach springs so perhaps that explains it, though the drop is not much I think.

Yes i hadnt thought about that i intend to fit a b12 kit in the spring so I might need to use the same sizes as you. Thanks

you will be suprised OP in the difference in that 40 /45 aspect ratio, they will most likely rub under full compression, remember the stock front fenders are rolled, the rears are not.

Yes being as I intend to lower the car I will use 235 40 18 front and 265 35 18 rear with a 8.5x18 et38 front wheel.
Thanks for all your help I know where I am going now.

I'm just about to press the button on some of these too..

I'm thinking of running a 9" square setup with 255 30 18 all round...

My thoughts were that I always kill the outside edge on the fronts and the inside on the rears on track... Rotation would help me get more life out of the tyres.

I'm currently running a 9" compomotive wheel up front and stock rear wheels with 255 30 18 all round.... No rubbing issues.. but its not been driven in anger.

the z4 needs a certain amount or neg camber up front to combat that front edge wear i find particularly at the track anyway, not great for the DD but really aids turn in, combats wear and cuts understeer .
