AP big brake kit

Thanks for the heads up. It probably won't fit the Z4M without spending more money to modify it.
I bought a new Alcon E46 CSL BBK that the vendor assured me would fit the Z4M as "the brakes are the same". They aren't. The offset of the discs was incorrect and they fouled the track rod ends. I got a full refund after a bit of a fight. I suppose this vendor might allow a trial fitting...

Can you space discs out? Mind you, you would then also need to space the caliper too or the disc wouldn't run central. Am sure it could be made to fit though.
 
You can't space disks, well I wouldn't anyway. As I mentioned above you need to change the bell of the disc to Z4M spec and space the bracket 2mm, then it will work. The bells are £480 though and anyway he says disks are shot. The whole kit also doesn't look in the best condition.
No way are Ap disks £295 as vendor mentions. It's also only the front kit, personally I would want rears also, though many do run with just fronts.
All in all I'd say there are better buys out there, they just don't come along very often.

I know you probably shouldn't but theoretically i see no reason why you couldn't. Per the link its only 2mm so its more of a shim as a pose to a spacer. It wouldn't make the wheel dangerous really as it will still locate on the hub with plenty of room to spare. At worst you would likely need a new set of slightly extended wheel bolts, and it would be a pain to change wheels and have everything lined up.

Anywho it all just spitballing really. I have zero intention of buying, just thinking more about the fitment possibilities.
 
Alcon told me that you can space discs...but they recommend not doing so. As said already, a custom calliper bracket would be needed too.
 
Also be careful which callipers those are. You have CP5555 and CP5575. CP5555 does not fit the CSL wheels (uses thicker pads) while the CP5575 does (also on our M's).

This set was too tempting though, the main reason why I want to swap is the weight of the front calipers. The Aps are almost half of the brembos at the front (rears are similar). It's only about 2.5kg per caliper but I am planning on having a custom valved ohlins suspension setup, and 2.5kg unsprung mass does make a difference for that.
eta: the 6 pot ali brembos are still lighter than the stock steel mono piston caliper.
The Brembo setup is really pretty great otherwise, excellent feel and modulation through the pedal and fade is extremely difficult to bring on even on track.
There's some gravel rash on one of the calipers so I just need to figure out how to price them.
