Anyone Used Rain-X or Eqivilent?

Drove my Zed in the rain for the first time today and looking in the rear view mirror the rain was obstructing my view and I wondered as we have no rear wiper on a soft top I wondered if anyone had treated their rear screen with Rain-X or equivalent to stop this happening

I've used aquapell on previous cars, it lasts much longer than rain x, I'm not sure how well it would work on the rear window though.

I use rain x on the glass. The windows do clear quicker in the rain and ice doesn't stick as bad. Downside is that the dew clings on easier and in a finer droplets (if that makes sense).
Unfortunately it doesn't make much difference to the rear as there isn't much airflow there. It does clear when you get to silly speeds though, not good for your licence though.

I find leaving him in the garage solves the problem of rain on the rear screen of my convertible

When waxing the car, do the windows as well. Works a treat, especially with Carburuna wax as rain just bounces straight back off!

Would that not affect the wipers?
I only ask as I've been told not to use car polish on the windscreen as that will cause your blades to squeak. Also I use aqua wax and that says do not use on the windscreen.
I'm happy to be proven wrong.

All my glass has this and from about 40 mph I don't t really need wipers at all.

The rear screen I don't t know so much as I have a coupe

No mate, no effect whatsoever. My Bosch windscreen wipers never squeak or streak and to be honest become a bit more supple. Bit like the rubber seals around the windows. I wouldn't use 'polish' on my screen, only 'wax'. The Simoniz stuff I use is rubbed on and hose-piped off. Simple. And strange feeling of driving down the road in torrential rain and not having to put your wipers on as the rain simply disperses/bounces off the screen!

2 coats of rain-x then final wipe with a damp cloth lasts about 2 weeks in the rain.

A little trick I use is to put the heated rear window on and you'll soon see the water run off. When up and running the airflow keeps it dry anyway.

Ive tried a few others not the gteching and found they all dont last specially if you wash car frequently.

I now use Gyeon Q2 VIEW 20ml Kit and it does last allot longer. Also if you use the fluid on the wiper blades too seems help

I've used most before and have found them all much of a muchness when it comes to performance, where they differ is in durability. Rain X works very well but it's a pain to keep applying it every month, especially in the colder winter months when you need it most. The very best for life (but most expensive) is EnduroShield, 6 months life is perfectly possible, it's amazing stuff. It won the Autoexpress test in 2011 and was runner up in 2013. The little spray bottle does about 3 cars worth, but it works out great value longer term, I've used nothing else for the last 2 years.

OP, it works brilliantly on the front and side windows and fine on the mirrors but it won't make a huge difference on the rear screen other then the droplets beading, rather than smearing.

I used to do this, but apparently it makes plastic visors very brittle and susceptible to shattering. I thought it was rubbish but saw a guy from Arai demo it at a bike show.

Now I use G-Technique instead.
