Anyone Replaced Their Run Flats?

Decided to read more about run flats today being the curious sod I am and wondered if anyone had replaced theirs for conventional tyres and whether or not its recommended?

Yes just about everyone hear wow has a e85/6 and has had to replace there tyres.

One of the best things i have done. Less tram lining much more comfortable drive. And i found i liked the feeling through the steering better.

Just carry a pump/ tyre infiltrator tyre weld or a space saver

+1 You won't be sorry as it really transforms the ride of the car, just wish I had done it sooner :D

So many many threads on here about ditching runflats.

Don't even consider it - just do it!

Do a search and read through the 100s of owners who have made the change (but I think you are convinced already  )

You should in theory tell your insurance company mind, but I asked Admiral when i renewed and they said it's not a problem (although the guy didn't know what runflats were so went to ask his manager :D). I had to explain that runflats allow you to drive for a short time even if you get a puncture. He said "that's very cool!"

A thread on runflats vs normal tyres

I put Vredestein ultrac sessanta's on 19" repro CSL's. you might think that dropping 5mm on profile might cost you on comfort..... Oh my days the car is grippy, comfortable and awesome.... Why oh why did I wait a whole year?? Camskill dot com sorted me btw.... Cost £617 for a full set delivered.

My Z4 is still low mileage, and throwing all that (expensive) tread away seems a waste. But I put Ultra Sessantas on my previous car (Megane Sport 250) and loved them. Will not hesitate to put them on the Z4 when the time comes.

Presumably my rears will need replacing long before my fronts? WIll there be any issues mixing runflats on one the front and regular tyres on the rear?

Ready to ditch the run flats in favour of non RF tyres....but which make would you recommend? Cannot get the highly rated Goodyear Eagle Assymetric 2 F1's for my wheel size....225/50 RF 16....so could anyone please advise asap? I have a 2006 2 litre SE. Many thanks
