anyone repaired a trolley jack?

my clark aluminium light weight trolley jack leaks where the master cylinder enters the ram. I've got it all dismantled but the 22mm nut on the master cylinder is refusing to shift. I've had a beaker bar on it, windy gun on max and even a good old spanner and lump hammer. Sill refuses to budge.

so question is, any tips for shifting the bu99er? reluctant to try heat as I'll damage seals and maybe even the ali.

A heavy duty windy gun or last resort, get a chisel and try tapping it round. Just a thought, which way does it unwind ??
 
looks like a right hand thread. guess I could take it to my local (un)friendly garage and see if their gun will shift it

dont fancy chiseling it, totally FUBAR after that
 
When my engine hoist started to weep fluid - its a big very old Westinghouse (not a modern Chinese job) I took the ram to a hydraulic specialist - the sort that repair JCB's, waggons and alike (check in your yellow pages) and they changed all the seals for 'beer money'.

Might be worth asking this sort of firm for a price to sort it and all you have to do is refit it.
 
stored it now

drained the reservoir and tickled it with a flame for 5 mins. still tight but came off with a bit of effort.

cleaned and reassembled with new seals - no leaks so far
