Anyone online - help needed

Hi all

First of all thanks for the help this afternoon

I eventually got home, but we had to remove the undertray as the front had completely come loose

I rang sopers but didn't place the order for the M tray, in short as I nor he could not be sure of the right part number

Anyway im going to have another look tonight to try and identify the right number - but having a quick look when I got home the 3.0se and m undertray look the same on realoem which I know isn't right as the tray should be longer

Has anyone ordered this for their m bumper upgrade?

Hopefully you will get it sorted. My understanding from the Real Oem site is that the M tray is a two part affair, with the additional front tray bridging the gap between the M bumper and the standard under tray, which it seems has a different part number to the 3.0 tray.

The under trays are definitely different, I had the same problem, it's like the wind pulls it down off the fixings because there's a gap between the tray and the back of the front bumper, meaning you can't fix them together. I had to get the M tray and a whole host of other fixings when mine was torn off at BMW.

Ranski I manufactured a piece of plastic to the correct size to extend the existing undertray to the correct position of the new bumper. It's screwed to the existing undertray and then the underside of the M bumper then screws through to the plastic. I painted it all in Matt black plastic paint. Does the job perfectly and has been on for the last year with no problems..

Cost me nothing as I had the plastic and spray paint. Just a bit of time to make a template and drill the plastic in the correct places etc.

Better than paying stupid prices from BMW for the same outcome.

Hi John

Yes I remember you posting about this, I just wish I had also done this

I'm going to take another look at the fittings (or what's left of them) tomorrow morning. If i can repair the existing tray and add a section like you did then great, if not then I will have to order the m tray and associated parts

For you guys that have fitted the M bumper you do need this extra section as John has, or order the M tray.

In short your existing tray is being pushed out of its fittings by the downforce, so the above will happen at some point!
