Anyone named their car?

Just wondering what everyone has named their car and why. I looked for this topic and couldn't find anything. I'll go first.

Always been a big fan of the Star Ocean series for PS and Xbox. The most recent one had a character named Meracle, who was blue and had cat ears and she ended up being my favorite character. So I named my car Meracle for the cat ear-like roll bars, the size, the bite and the blue color. (Shown below)

It's kinda Asian of me I think, but the name fit for me.

Any other takers? 8)

No, it's a car!

Can't even bring myself to refer to it the 'Zed', makes me cringe.

Used to have a VRS Octavia and the Skoda forum folk used to refer to it as an Octy and a Fabia as a Furby....big cringe on both counts.

Nicknames should (IMO) be unique to owners of Mini's & Beetle's.

But of course, mine is "Bridget II". (named after a hot little b*tch that liked to tease and get you in trouble)

The GF always has to name our cars the coupe has been named Danny has she thinks it is a Boy but Roadster was named Scarlet because of the colour and it was a she

I was thinking about starting this thread last week. :P

My current 23i is the first car I bought brand new, so I named it "Shadowfax". :D Maniac calls his 35i "The Beast".

You should call your's Donkey :poke:

Shadowfax was white, and was the greatest of all horses.

Surely you owe it to this great steed to repaint/wrap your car and put in the twin-turbo engine out of the 35is.

I know it has the smallest engine.

I found the following on the internet to describe it "Shadowfax was a beautiful horse. In the daylight his coat appeared silver, while at night it was a shadowy grey that made Shadowfax nearly invisible in the dark. He was light-footed and extremely swift and could run great distances without tiring".

Shadowfax is not really a white horse.

Depends whether you're talking about the book or the film horse :P
J.R.R. Tolkein in my version of LOTR said:
The horses of the Nine cannot vie with him; tireless, swift as the flowing wind. Shadowfax they called him. By day his coat glistens like silver; and by night it is like a shade, and he passes unseen. Light is his footfall!

My 'names' are just alternative tags. So instead of saying "I'll be down in the M5, or the Z4MC.", I'll say "I'll be down in the überbarge, or the überskate.".

My pets don't get given names either. My goldfish was called 'fish', the hamster is called 'hamster', and the cat was called 'cat'.

Never named our cars......although they have lots of names when the bloody things dont start..........although one of our lads refers to the rover streetwise as the MG...never had the heart to put him right

My better alf insists on naming cars- her beetle convertible is called annabelle and apparently ( and much to my refusal) the z is called tarquin as it's posh!
