Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows how to get in touch with Jonny essex, or even better, if someone could pass on my regards to him please.

I paid him for a strut brace nearly 2 months ago and still haven't received it. I sent him money via bank transfer on Monday 8th August 2016. I messaged him back the following week asking for an update. He replied on Wednesday 17th August, saying that he is very tight with cash at the moment and can't afford to drive his Z4 as it only has a quarter tank of fuel left and the MOT on his Ford KA just ran out. He said he is just waiting for some money as it will cost him £10 to post it off. I replied to him saying I understand his situation and I'm happy to wait a little longer.

I messaged again on Saturday 27th August to see how he was doing and to let him know I can wait until the 24th September for him to post it out to me. He messaged back on the same day saying he can actually post it off the following week for me as it will cost him a tenner in P&P. I replied on the same day saying it's fine and he could possibly try parcel2go for cheap P&P. I received no reply after this.

I messaged him again and last week for updates but unfortunately got no response.

I really hope I haven't been scammed here. I wouldn't expect Jonny to do this as he is a very well known member on this forum. I have been very generous and given more than enough ample time but unfortunately still haven't received my item. If someone knows him personally could they please let him know I am still waiting for the strut brace.

Many thanks

Huumm we all go through bad times and have other things on our minds. I am sure this is what's happend I don't believe he has done this to scam you.

But still it's not your fault you have paid your money and you want your goods. I am going through the same sort of thing with some parts I brought of a guy on FB so I know how frustrating it can be. Especially when you have been understanding to begin with.

If he's received the money for the strut brace up front why couldn't he use tenner out of that money? Spending the cash before you've sent the goods off is a bit shocking tbh

again, its only speculation as we've only heard one side, however doesnt look good :(

Hope you get the issue resolved

Exactly this, don't want to kick a man when he's down and he may have his reasons however that's just not cricket.

Hope you get sorted. There must be members on here that know him outside of the forum that can contact him.

He was last active on the 15th Sept. Must be frustrating - you've been very patient, he's a long standing member so hopefully he will get his head back in the game soon.

OK we have only had one side of this story but if this is true is absolutely outrageous!
At around the time Sail sent him money Jonny was posting on here about spending a small fortune on his car buying items like an M Sport Steering Wheel, M bumper etc in this thread.

Yet he can't scrape together a tenner to send someone something they have already paid him for, disgusting!
Like others have said what happened to the money Sail sent, use a tenner of that.

I just can't understand how someone can/would behave like this and have the cheek to ask and expect someone to wait for something they had paid for. If I was this skint I'd be selling my car for a start, but I would have also asked friends/family to lend me a tenner so I could get it sent. Not humiliate myself telling the buyer I cant afford to send it to you, despite the fact you just sent me £80.

I really felt sorry for Jonny when the mess that was his turbo was going on, but this is unacceptable and for me it calls into question if other events really happened as we have been led to believe.

Sail, maybe the Mods can do something to help you resolve this

Personally, I don't think Jonny's the 'scamming' type - as past events have shown he's more likely to be taken advantage of than vice versa....

I've sent him a message via Facebook pointing him at this thread
