Anyone in Derbyshire today ?

Having decided the weather was too good and work was all politics this week, Ive thrown the backpack in the Zed and headed for the hills.

I travelled up from Bristol, through the Wye Valley lastnight and generally headed North. I got to Shrewsbury, found a pub and a field and roughed it under a tarp for the night, next to the car ( which was much better than a hot stuffy bedroom , I might add !)

Today I have a choice either head West for Snowdon, (which Ive done before ) and loop back down to my pad n Swansea , or head North East and tie up with an old friend who lives near Selby, (Yorks) taking in the Peak district and Snakepass on the way, (which is the most likely option).

So if anyone is about today and fancies a hoon let me know or if you see a silver Alpina buzzing through with my mate Ted in the passenger seat, give us a wave !

It was all a bit of a joke... I went to the recycling area of our local supermarket and there he was. A 6ft bear sat leaning against a skip, with a black sack over his head ! (Mafia style !) He was unmarked and in great condition so the kids rescued him and suggested I take him out in the Zed. We wonder if whoever dumped him will see him riding around locally in style and have chuckle !

When I announced I was heading off this week, they dared me to take him so I did and he's been a great Ice Breaker ! The amount of people who come up and speak whenever Im parked up in the High Street or Car park is unbelievable ! Everyone seems to feel the need to comment and its amusing to see the faces of kids in other cars and the double takes from drivers being overtaken on the motorway by a bear ( especially the Police ! ). - Great for the 2+ lane as well !

The seat was empty so why not.. I just packed the bear necessities.....(paws !)

It may be compulsory for next years English/Welsh run yet Bing, so start hunting in the charity shops...
