Anyone got aftermarket seats in the zed?

I would like to know where the over the shoulder strap attaches?? Is it on the seat mount on the floor.

No that would not be safe and would never pass scrutineering (if it needed to) - strap angles should not exceed 45 degrees.

In my car they attach to FIA eyebolts set into the bulkhead right behind the seats, the eyebolts themselves screw into FIA backing plates behind the bulkhead. Holes had to be cut in the trim panel to allow this.

Unless you have a harness bar/roll cage (which would be VERY hard to squeeze in) this is the only solution I can think of.

Yeah it didn't seem like a good idea. That makes seance now you have described it. I was thinking a bar of some sort. But your quite tall like me and it would probably get in the way.

Yes it would - if you could work out a way of fitting one? I can't think of/see a suitable method for the Z4. Or at least not that would work for the coupe; I'm not familiar with the roadster.

Just have it mounted lower. I would have thought it would be okay with regards to the angle at the back.

The only downside is the trim would need to be removed have holes drilled in to make the bar fit.

I had a very similar one in my 911, however, for that type of bar to work it must be set behind the b pillar - you can't rely solely on the strength of the securing bolts. So getting it lower would be jolly difficult I would think. I'd be interested to see how that one is fixed in place as it seems to be bolted to the b pillar some how?

I agree that one is a bit high and probably restricting rear vision, but as you move it lower it will also start to foul the centre bulge in the console.

Definitely interesting to see though.
