Anyone fitted osram night breaker plus?

Hey guys,

Not much on a search on this one, I'm looking at the Osram Nightbreaker plus bulbs to replace the OEM units I have. Seems strange that I have the headlight washers and auto leveling lights but no HID's or xenons, looks like just the basic hallogen?

Or I'm being a complete spanner, entirely possible today ...

Headlight washers are standard on all 3.0 Z4s, unfortunately seeing at night is an option :tumbleweed:

Turn the adjuster screws up a bit in conjunction with some decent bulbs.

The OSRAM's look like a good compromise rather than going for a HID kit that may run into MOT issues later this year.

Just been looking at these today. Big difference in prices across the Net makes me wonder if there are fakes around?
And it's 2 pairs of H7's each side i think?

I've been trying to work out which ones i'd need as well jimbo, any definative answer from the community? Is it just 2 pairs of H7 Osrams as a suitable replacement chaps?

Pete

Just to add - I was running the Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs in my e46, the photos are gone from my post on e46zone.com from the time I fitted them and took photos to compare, but they are markedly better than the OEM bulbs I had. Think I paid £18 for the pair on eBay.

This might help.

Looks like you need two pairs. But this leaves me wondering about the fogs.

worth trying powerbulbs.com - I think there's a discount code on here somewhere as well....

I think we need (2007 Z4 coupe):

4x H7 (Main and Dipped)
2xH11 (front fogs)
4xW5W (led) - side lights/rear license
6xP21W ((clear glass) front/rear indicators/brake lights

I use the following bulbs:
H7 - Phillips X-treme Vicion
H11 - Osram Nightbreaker +
W5W - Phillips blue Vison
P21W - Phillips Vision Plus

The previous owner of my Z4 thought they had xenons as the car had the headlamp wash, but I soon told them otherwise. You won't have auto-levelling though if you have halogen: what you'll have instead is a height adjustment thumb dial next to the light control panel (beside the dash illuminaton dimmer).

Z4's need 2 pairs of H7's: one for the dipped beam and one for the main beam. I started off with Philips Xtreme +80% in the dipped beam units but moved them into the main beam when I fitted a HID kit to the dipped beam units.

Do the facelift Z4s have LED foglights? (It's raining and car is in garage so don't want to go out and check!)

As I have Xenons in the Z4, if this is the case, I have a set of H7 nightbreaker plus's that I don't need - only done about 1 month's driving (I only do 3000 miles/year so they've hardly been used).

Will happily send them to a good home, if anyone would like to try them?

No they don't but it's easy to change for LEDs. Here's a picture of two different LED "foglights". Left has 102 leds (H11 102 SMD Led, 4800K), right has 68 leds (H11 68 SMD Led, 5050K).

Here's a picture with the 102 LEDs. The color is 4800K, so close to OEM xenon's 4300K:
