I was wondering how many other folks have a Z4 configured like mine. It was a special order car. I check the classifieds regularly both in the US and Europe but have yet to come across a car with my configuration. I contacted BMW about this, just asking how many cars were built like this one. They said they don't release that sort of information. :headbang:

So if anyone else has a car like this it would be nice to hear from you....or of you :)

Frankly, I've yet to find another car with (1) crimson paint, (2) twin turbo six cylinder engine, (3) six speed manual gearbox and (4) extended Ivory Leather interior.

My car is configured as follows: Any one else out there with a twin to this car?

1. Crimson red (not metallic Melbourne red)
2. Exclusive Ivory White Leather (extended to upper section of the dash)
3. Full leather (leather on top of dash, top of door panels, etc)
4. Twin Turbo Six cylinder Sdrive35i (N54 motor)
5. Manual six speed transmission
6. Anthracite wood trim
7. Performance Package (Adaptive M Suspension and increased top speed)
8. Premium Package
9. Cold Weather package
10. Navigation
11. 19" wheels.

Think you answered your own question with Its was a special order car unlikely someone would have exactly the same spec :?

Aren't they all special order, according to BMW sales dept.

Haha, depends I guess. If it's an individual spec then it is a "special" order..

Sorry. Here are some pics. The door panels have a combination of white leather and suede.

A very good spec, but nothing exceptional. Except, it looks as if the car has a cup holder!!!

Unfortunately though, your car isn't Melbourne Red, so you can't join Busterboo's mysterious sect....

Busterboo you really think I don't know the color of my own car? Pretty easy to tell the difference between red and a metallic red/orange....aside from the fact BMW provided me with my car's build sheet that clearly shows A61 Crimson red.

As for nothing exceptional, i.e., an exception, that's the entire point. For nearly two years I've checked cars.com, Ebay and Mobile.de and autoscout24.eu and never came across a manual six speed, twin turbo N54, crimson red with exclusive ivory white leather (not to mention all the other packages). Thus, by definition the car is "exceptional." But BMW refuses to release information regarding production of numbers of cars, e.g., by color. So......I figured I'd seek out the information here and see if anyone else has a car spec'd like mine

I can see this thread going south with that slightly sensitive reply. Perhaps the colour names differ to the ones used in the UK? In any event as this forum is 98% UK you won't get market representative feedback.

Cup holder is LHD only.

I doubt BMW would have the information easily to hand if at all for matching exact spec..

I have seen a Crimson red E89 here in the UK,and it is very different to Melbourne when seen in the flesh..

You might have the "only" one ever specced like that,it certainly looks nice. I would think there are quite a lot of "one off" E89's about as spec and options are so plentiful, getting 2 the same is rare anyway.

Mine is crimson red and I have the same interior I did have 296 alloys as well. Mine is only a 23i though and does not have nav etc. I think you could spec all sorts of combinations on the e89.

Great looking car though OP ! Looks in great condition.

RHD cars don't get cup holder slots? Odd. Where do you put your pint when driving?

It's my understanding when the Z4 was first introduced the following colors were introduced and available in all markets:

Metallic: Havana, Space Gray, Black Sapphire, Titanium Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Orion Silver

Non-Metallic: Black, Crimson Red.

I believe the last year Crimson Red was offered (at least in North America) was 2015 as they ceased offering the color for 2016 and later models.

I believe 2011 was the first year of the Melbourne red (a red metallic that to me tends to have a less deep red tone than Crimson).

In 2014 BMW ceased offering the manual gearbox in their N54 motor (twin turbo 6) cars.

So I am 99 percent sure BMW offered only two reds, crimson and melbourne. One is a sort of fire engine red (tad darker than Ferrari Rosso Corsa) and the other a metallic red that is a lighter red then crimson.

Crimson is actually defined as "a rich deep red color inclining to purple." I don't see purple, but it is definitely a truer red red.

Crimson red is a different colour to melbourne red and imola red.
Lots of cars have a manual 6 speed gearbox with twin turbo, the model of car usually is the 35i, which yours must be, but this can be had with an auto gearbox too.
The top of the range 35is however is auto only.
Your car will be one of a kind though with a few expensive options, shame its not got the smokers package with the cover over the tray at the front of the centre console.
