Anyone cycling for fun in this heat...?

It's so hot I'm going to take a few days off getting to work in this heat...I have a 4 mile uphill ride to get to the moors until it flattens out and I'm dying...it's ridiculous.

There are folks out riding for fun.... Why would you...?? I don't like it hot as a matter of course but taking that into account beats me why anyone would ride in this for fun.... :heat: :heat: :heat:

Had a nice walk up on the moors this morning, nice cooling breeze up there. Then spent the afternoon/evening swimming down at the local beach. Need to fill the Zed again though. enjoying the good weather is expensive. :lol:

Meanwhile, I’ll be out on a nice 100km ride in the 29C sweltering cauldron of the Veluwe tomorrow and thinking of you John....

I can’t even ride my bike now, those days are done for me.

I actually don't mind it because if you can keep a decent speed up you're creating your own cooling breeze 8) Riding in the evening/early morning is much better though!

In the past I have riden up most of the Alpine climbs of the tour de France in heat from just above freezing to over 42deg where the tarmac is melting

Mont Ventoux was the hardest as there is no cover and it is bear rock that reflects and radiats heat back at you.

Enjoyed the stage from Lake Geneva. Rode most of it, along with MrsG, carrying a tent and walking boots, but no kitchen sink, 40 years ago last month. Happy memories. Next time will be on the trains.

F**k Mt Ventoux in its' left ear! I hate climbs at the best of times. :lol:

Couldn't be arsed loading up the MTB and driving to the Veluwe so stayed local and did a 'rondje' via Amsterdam and Aalsmeer on the roadie. Had a nice cool breeze behind me going along the Amsterdam Rijnkanaal which was a nice comfortable start.
Think I got my vitamin D3 dose for the entire month yesterday.
