Any Z4 owners in Colchester (UK) area?

Hi everyone,

Great forums btw & I unfortunately havent got a Zed.......YET! so cant post any pics :wink:

Been floating around your forums looking at all the info about Z4's, doing my homework and I must admit the temptation is great.

I am using a friends car at the moment as he is away travelling (Audi A4), sold my '02 Octavia vRS and hunting around for a new car Nov/Dec time.

Had a '92 MR2 before the vRS and wanting to go back to a 2 seater, in the classic old top gear special mindset atm, boxster, zed or s2000.

Its great to see this forums members are passionate about their cars and everyone seems genuine and helpful, which made me think if there are any Z4 owners in the Colchester area that could take me out in there pride and joy as a passenger so I can see/feel what the ride is like? :driving:

I know its alot to ask but I dont have the budget to go and test drive a new one, and not many for sale in this area, but I dont like being a test pilot just to let someone down when I not ready to buy a car.

Thought it would be worth a try asking in here to help make my mind up.

Would give you a spin in mine if I could, but i'm a bit far away for that!

I've not been out in the S2000, but have been out in a Boxster. IMO the Z4 wins. Ride is harsher in the zed with run flats fitted, but without them, much better. You'll find lots of threads/posts on this subject. Prefer the cabin in the zed, and there's more boot space (the Boxster has deep storage space in the front, but not a lot in the back).

The 3.0i or 3.0si is quicker than that Boxster equivalent and the S2000. Don't have first hand experience, but the S2000 has very little torque and needs to be driven very hard to get performance out of it.

I'm in Northampton, so not close. Many ex S2000 owners here so that may tell you something.Boxter is nice but can be massively expensive if something goes wrong.

Yamiuchi, i am happy to take you for a spin. Although i don't think i will be available until this coming bank holiday Monday. To be honest i am potentially looking into selling the car if i can get decent money for it. Possibly looking into upgrading to either the m coupe or e92 m3...probably be the latter as i am looking for more space. Are you looking into buying anytime soon?

Im in Brightlingsea, but can get to Colchester or where i need to be to get a spin no worries!

I am using my mates A4 at the moment, but I am keeping my eye on the market for Z4s incase that special one comes up :wink:

No worries. Was away so didn't respond. Anyhow i should be about this weekend. I am in Colchester I will confirm around Thursday/Friday if i will be about.
 
I am about tomorrow so let me know if you want to come over Colchester for a detail look at a zed 4. Just a quick spec of my zed it's a 03 3.0 silver grey with 108s. later mate.

Last minute changes so need go somewhere in the afternoon, can you make it here anytime now before 1pm? We can meet at highwoods tesco car park. If that doesn't work we can schedule something later.
