Any more suggestion for a stuck cd?

It's the usual constant read error problem.

Tried all the suggestions in previous threads - disconnected the iBus lead, pressing eject while reconnecting the battery. No response at all.

Is there no way of manually removing a cd?
 
Why don't you do what was suggested in the post you linked to in your other thread.

"Now on the back of the unit is the ibus connector and if you remove it, reconnect the multi-plug and power on and press eject it ejects! FIRST TIME! YAY! Then reconnect, pray you didn't break anything and breathe a huge sigh of relief when it all works.

I guess I should have worked all this out before I started dismantling an expensive head unit, but I repeat, man, engineer, tinkerer...

So long story short, if you get a CD stuck in the drive and it's not a mechanical problem but a read error (you'll hear the drive spinning and stopping, spinning and stopping) try pulling the radio out and disconnecting the i-bus cable then powering it on and pressing eject. I hope it works for you!"

That didn't do anything & neither did pressing eject whilst reconnecting the battery.


Wattsie - previous posts suggested you can't get at the cd. Did you just take the top cover off the head unit?
 
thin bladed knife, as in old fashioned table knife with a 1cm sq piece of double sided tape stuck to the blade, gently insert and it sticks to the disc, just gently pull it out. :thumbsup:
 
Well that didn't work initially but since I already had the vents out I pulled the head unit out & took the lid off (4 x T8 torx screws).

That must have been as far as the previous poster got because it doesn't give you any more access but take out a further 2 screws & the cd unit itself lifts right out. You can then get in with the knife trick & get the cd out.

All's well & the new Aux input works well too.
