Hey guys! I've been trying to upload a short vid of my newly born son, but I keep getting pink and green flashes in the movie, even when uploaded... When I'm editing the movie in windows live movie maker, it seems to play normally, but when I save it as a movie, I keep getting green and pink flashes :(

Is it a problem with my screen driver? I'm running windows 7, service pack 1 on an Acer Aspire 7739 laptop (intel i3 processor). I also have DirectX 11 which seems to run normally...

Really don't know how to solve it unless getting my laptop repaird, which I want to avoid...

Can anyone offer help? :(

What type of video is it (i.e. mpeg, mp4, avi, .divx).

You may need to download a better codec for the video type.

If you're not sure - try installing a "Windows Codec Pack" - just google that, but make sure you download it from a reputable source.

I tried a codec pack, installed it and restarted. But it did not solve the issue.
I can download 2 VGA drivers from the official Acer website, would installing these help solve the issue?

I think Dans answer was the right one but it sounds like there may be more to this. Video formats are horrendous with everyone trying to create a new standard. Is the video available for download so we can try it on different hardware. As it's a family thing I wouldn't expect it to be so can you try it on a different computer?

Also try saving it in a different format (not .wmv).

Andi.

I'll have a go on a different computer later on, if I can get it on there
I tried to upload the vid to Youtube, but the green and pink screen flashes remain.

Oddly, playing random youtube vids are no prob...

Looking at what I did, it must be a codec or conversion issue indeed. I recorded the movie with my camera in .mov type, opened it with windows movie maker, which exports the result to type .wmv. The original movie plays perfectly, the processed one does not...

Thanks guys, the codecs worked after all, I repeated the export after install of the codecs and it looks great now!
I'll post the vid here later: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=61816&p=912528#p912528
