Another year over.

I've just taken my summer wheels with R888's off for my winter wheels with winter tyres..... Pilot Super Sports

I'm going to buggered if we have a bad winter but it might be an excuse to drive the Mrs RS6, the V10 should help get through any snow drifts!

mines in use every day, can't think of a better place to sit, 25k since Jan this year, snow, ice, floods the Z4's dealt with it all

out all this winter - one of the reasons for going for the 4S rather than a 2S - when i handed over the M i realised I done about 600-800 miles in it since May , it would normally be going in the garage this week.

Still got mine - decided in the end to keep it - for what it's worth ( £7k ) there's nothing out there comparable for the money :D

Just Sorn'd it for the winter months - Ctek trickle charger continuously on in nice cosy garage :D

Will emerge in the spring - will try to get to a meet next year if there's one down this way - add a few miles - might even pass the 30k milestone

how did you find the wear on the r888. would have thought the z a bit heavy for these and they would die off quick.... or did you go fro a harder compound

Bloody hell - that's some going

Keep on trucking/driving. You might be dead tomorrow-can't say for sure whether Zeds are allowed through the Pearly Gates!

I have the GG (hardest) compound running 235 40 18's all round. The super sports are very good road tyres but the R888's make the car come alive. Square setup also make the car feel more balanced where as the staggered Super Sports (265 40 18 and 235 45 18) give that light front end understeer feeling. I'll have to play with the pressures a little more and/or adjust the geo.

I was running -3 deg front camber and now down to about -2 for road use. At -2 deg there was some outer shoulder wear but generally acceptable overall wear.

I have friends who run only R888's on their GTR's so the Z4 is a featherweight in comparison. The SG's and GGG's are harder to get hold of and I'd think they're too soft for some road use as well.

The major downside of the R888's is the whirring road noise where passengers kept asking how to turn the fans off completely.
