Another 'Terrorist attack' in Paris tonight.

They won't want to be in Syria with a uk passport will they ?
On their possible/eventual return they won't have a passport - so we can legitamally say NO !

If you want to learn more about ISIS, this is an extraordinarily well written piece. It is long, but it's worth reading.

There are equally deranged Christian fundamentalists out there. In America, calling for gay people to be killed. In Africa, killing people for perceived "witchcraft". Having a lack of sympathy for "normal" moderate Moslems would be similar to saying that all Christians are equally evil to those who kill in the name of Christianity. Half of whom don't realise that their god is the same god of the Jews and of Islam.

Frankly I'm sick of religion and I'm sick of intolerance to other human beings

You and me both, but unfortunately it'll never end, even if you could blast ISIS out of the world, history dictates there'll be another mad bunch of extremists hell bent on having the world how they see it. It's human nature to be greedy and have the ability to inflict the most evil atrocities on fellow man, not all obviously but where one regime is extinguished another will follow. You'll never stop it because even if you had a world without war greed will create it. Mankind will ultimately self destruct or run the world dry of resources so starve.

I'm not some loony doom merchant in a mad cult but it's so shocking that in an age where we can do and achieve so much we behave like this. There's enough money globally to re-house refugees in huge luxury camps with air con etc, as an example, but it doesn't happen, the countries not involved in this don't want to know. Globally the armed forces and intelligence combined could, I'm sure, blitz ISIS, but it doesn't happen, we as the human race cannot agree or put our differences to the side and look at the bigger picture. It's how it is, it cannot be changed.

Not so sure . . .

There are plenty of examples with positive outcomes of humane and constructive responses within the human race - I am always amazed just how peaceful and well organised the world can be, not all of it obviously, but enough of it to respond and move things forward. Now I'm not certain this will be in my lifetime but no change ever came except by effort and sadly some of that effort will be costly - as it always seems to be. If we can avoid nuclear weapons then there is hope that a better way will be found. It has to be found, and this will be the next profound movement of the human race in response to such outrages as that recently in Paris and elsewhere in the world. The accelerated nature of technology will assist us in this move forward and for me it seems the most likely outcome - a world very different in terms of organisation, belief, response and acceptance. We've come a long way already - I think the human race is adaptable innovative and courageous particularly in extremist.

Just my two-penneth . . . .

Well put and I hope ultimately you're right and I'm wrong Paul. :)
