Another service thread - odd or good pricing?

Continuing to prep the zed for the driving season.
Needs a oil and brake service this year as ages to go for next inspection, and also putting on the Eibachs.

After reading the threads my quotes seems a bit strange, not bad per se but just not quite what I expected.

Local Indy:
- Brake £50
- Oil £105
- Spring change - £160 without alignment (quote based on 90mins per side)

The overall cost seems ok, but just thrown by the spring change quote. Is 90mins per side wildly unreasonable?

PS. Main dealer discount £245 for brake/oil service.

Would love to even with my non existent spannering knowledge - no garage, no tools, not a lot of time makes it extra difficult :(
 
Late update...

Finally Got my springs fitted but massive difference in fitting labour quotes, the following work estimates seem the most consistent out of the outrageous quotes, can't confirm whether they are bmw standard job times though:

1.5 hours per front spring
1 hour to do both rear springs
1 hour for alignment service

I'm assuming that the front spring replacements have a bit more contingency due to more potential difficulty. The worst quote I got was for 1.5hrs per corner...

In anycase big ups to you DIY'ers out there, certainly save yourselves going through the minefield of vendors/pricing
 
Sae, rear springs take 5 mins. But fronts will take about a hour each & there a nightmare.

Yep has been mentioned, but try telling how long jobs should take to garage staff , would be interesting to find out what the official bmw job card time is for that though - assuming they still do that level of job control
 
Bit late to this, but that's how much it cost to have my Eibachs fitted :thumbsup:
 
This is one of those rare occasions when the "rent a garage" idea crossed with a "forum gathering" would be useful if lots of folks were doing a spring change, a spring install DIY master class if you will, IIRC I think I read an old thread members doing an aeroskirt install day

...add a bbq or hog roast or something like that for grand day out ... :)
