Another sad moment in automotive history

Only a few years after Ferrari has opted to ditch manual transmissions on all models, it seems Lamborghini will be joining the ranks

Since I don't do 1/4 mile acceleration runs against anyone (specially on public roads), why do I care if I'm technically half a second slower the paddle dude in the next car??? Long live the classic, pure roadster...

p.s. thank you Porsche for developping new stickies (7 speed manual coming to a 991 in your neighbourhood soon)

Aaaah porsche the only true racing car you can use everyday and Audi must have puked when the 917k beat their lap time ! ha ha ha

Since nobody orders super cars for road use with manual why bother making them. I agree witht he change in a market led economy.
DCT and all similars with paddle shifts does the job even better, so let technology move on. Gone are the days of 3 speed autos, slipping converters and no lock up guzzling fuel and making driving dull.

I will be buying a DB9 in the next few days and less than 1% come with manual If I specified one I would loose £5k on resale and really struggle to move it. Secondly MrsCJ would ban my purchase as she woudl not drive it (despite being a great manual driver)

Jurys out for me on this one, i love manual but understand why so many choose auto. I was looking at second hand astons and jag xk's a few years ago, only half heartedly i might add, but the lower prices of 2nd hand manual versions was quite tempting :)

Personally I prefer the clutch but as most of these supercars end up bein driven in the city by bankers under 10 mph then I can see why they are now auto only.

Give me a manual over a 0.3sec reduction in accelerations times, every single time.

I can see the attraction of an auto if I drove in a lot of start/stop traffic, or for setting laptimes on a track, but apart from that I'm out.
