"Another" roof question.

New to forum, not new to cars.
I just picked up my 14th car, a 2003 Z4i 3.0.

Getting to the point > im in the process of removing my roof to inspect drains / other water leak issue due to water in trunk, and after endoscoping my drains, they were full of "stuff" near the motor.

I have probably read every thread possible in regards to roof removal / etc.

Today i tried to manually move the roof by pulling the red cord. Upon inital inspection, looks like the cord was already "out" of its housing. Story cut short, no go for any manual roof movement. Feels like im forcing it.

Roof open / closed / half way / one guy pulling cord and other pushing roof, did not make a difference.

My roof motor works. (fyi)

Iv read i NEED to be able to manually move the roof so that i can remove it. What are my options here / anyone have reccomendations?

thank you sirs n madams in advace! :fuelfire:

Dont require to move roof manually, it is possible to remove roof from car while it stays in one position the entire time.

upon removal of roof, i finally got the cord to work, i manaully pressed i the release button on the bypass a few times.

end thread
