Hi
What could cause the roof going down always nicely
But sometimes coming back up is very slow but now always
Fluid is topped up
Red pull just replaced and pin on pump moves nice a free
I believe these units self bleed how where does the air go

Thanks
Ray

I take it that you have relocated it to the boot since you have checked the bypass valve isn't stuck preventing pressure to maintain itself. Sounds like your pump may be weak on the up cycle hence slow to close. It self bleeds itself and should be filled up to the mark on the side of the reservoir. Any air in the circuits will sit at the top of the reservoir above the fluid. Where are you in the UK it helps to know so we can advise where you can find a member on here to fix it if you don't want to take it to bits yourself. Put your location in your Account details so it appears on left of your posts, add car model as well.

Hi yes i have relocated it in the boot and changed the Bowden cable as I broke off the red pull tab ( because I am so strong or a dickhead )
It works ok but sometimes very slow coming up
So you think it would be the pump
the motor was around 5 years ago
Can you buy the pump separately don’t think I have seen them
I am in pinner middx
if anyone can point me in the right direction

Thanks

Possibly pump (you can reverse the hydraulic connections on it to see if it then goes down very slowly). If it does then it is the pump. If not, then it will be the seals in the 'up' hydraulic rams leaking.

I’d probably say Bowser is your nearest expert in Hook, Hants

His garage contact details can be found if you google. “RBM Hook “
