Another roof/boot issue.........

Weird one today
i suspect i may have tried to open the roof when the car was at a slight angle (was doing about 10mph )

Now the roof won't open or close properly and to add to this the windows wont close and boot wont open either from key or roundel

Central locking is working on the doors

I'm getting the expected Roof movement impaired message and Roof System!

Fortunately the roof is almost closed but the windows and boot are bigger issues

I feel like if i can get in the boot that would be a start - any ideas?

Hi.
Bad luck.
I’m still in the recovery phase from my roof/boot issues. My counsellor says to stop stop talking about it, so I won’t go on!
Dealer software and some OBD readers can fire a signal to open the boot …… supposedly bypassing any other issues.
That is probably your best bet.
It’s utterly ridiculous that the car doesn’t have an emergency boot release that’s accessible from the cabin.
Ian.

Thanks it's a little reassuring to know i'm not alone in this!

I'm 90% sure the initial roof fault was triggered by me trying to open it whilst a) moving and b) not on level ground - a lesson learned there

But until i can get in the boot it's hard to know where to begin

I assume the fact that the boot is locked and the windows won't rise is entirely linked to the roof not being latched

The car is supposed to be able to drop the roof whilst moving up to 30mph and within a degree of incline. It’s likely a worn switch or frayed cable.

Sometimes leaving the car a bit and returning will allow you into the boot. I would get the car booked in for a fix, it probably won’t be as bad as you think.

I had a similar issue on my 20i on a steep slope in Tarbert far far from the madding crowd…reset itself when recycled on the flat..

Would disconnecting the battery for a bit help sort things out quickly, or is that over simplistic? Assuming its in the front!
