Legend
 Cornwall
Sir Stirling Moss died in his sleep, in the early hours of this morning. What a great man, what a great legacy of British success.

A true legend and will always be a world champion in my eyes regardless of never winning it. He will be remembered as a gent and an idol. Wish this lock down wasn’t on as I’d be there to line the streets for his funeral.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Stirling and spent an hour in his company. A true gent and British motor racing legend.

A sad loss, he was probably the ultimate 'Sportsman' F1 driver or the era.

His greatest F1 race? Monaco 1961 when his obsolete Lotus beat the new new Ferrari, Lotus and Moss proving that agility and skill can win out over bhp. Brilliant, and he even had time to wave thanks when he passed.

RIP Sir Stirling - a sad day.

I'll always remember seeing him drive the Mille Miglia winning Mercedes up the hill at Goodwood in 1995 with Jenks in the passenger seat.

Just found a video of it on the Goodwood web-site for anyone interested:- https://www.goodwood.com/grr/event-coverage/festival-of-speed/2020/4/video-how-goodwood-re-united-sir-stirling-moss-denis-jenkinson-and-722/

You can just see how much he loved that SLR. Turn the volume up, spine tingling 8)
