Another AUX In question

Ok so i have finally got my vents out (much easier once i stopped being retarded and used a torch!), plugged in my homemade lead and nothing, no AUX mode only CD and Radio, followed SK93's guide completely still without joy. I imagine it may be a duff cable on my part and am going to try a rebuild today. However, failing this i am going to buy the BMW one (Aux-In Cable - 65120153502) from joe @ sopers since his servcice on getting me a ZHP gear knob has been first class.

Anyway my question is - since im going to be paying out for the lead, is there any product i can pay a bit more for that would produce track listings etc on the business CD display panel?? (No sat nav etc. installed). Dont really like phone cradles and not bothered about it charging my iphone, but it could do with being easy to install (ie. plug n play) since we established earlier that im a retard

Yes you can get the iPod connection kit (this plugs into the bottom of the iPhone/iPod same as the PC/Mac USB sync cable) and the track information is displayed on the CD display panel. I think you can navigate through playlists only however with that one. It costs around £120 for the retrofit kit. That is an option if you wanted to stay OEM otherwise the dension gateway or DICE jobby is the one to go for. Plenty on these forums if you do a search.
