I always thought magnesium burnt nicely. So should I worry about my N52, in a hot environment, surrounded by petrol and electricity ?

It did when I was at school!

But the N52 block is an alloy made from primarily magnesium and aluminium which isn't quite the same!

My first E86 didn't spontaneously combust when the electric water pump died so I'd worry more about the death of a water pump! (Sounds like a title for a book).

Hi, i'm pretty sure the n52 block is primarily a magnesium jacket which encases an alloy core, rather than a mixture of the two metals? :?
