Alternator Noise in Speakers

I just installed the BMW Aux Input that replaces the ashtray in my 2003 BMW Z4 Roadster. It works great for playing music from my iPhone but when my phone is connected to the charger I get alternator noise coming through the speakers. If I disconnect the charger or turn the engine off the noise goes away. I'm told there are filters you can buy to take care of this but I don't want to buy something like that blindly. Looking for input from others who have experienced this.

You have a ground loop for which u need an isolator.
I have this one as well as the mpow BT dongle for streaming. works tip top:

I saw that one on Amazon and was thinking about it as a short-term fix. I was hoping to find a solution that would install under the hood on the output side of the alternator but until I find one this sounds like a good solution. Thanks for the reco.
