ALPINE iDA-X100 anyone had one?

i dont know the part number. there are one and two piece ones on ebay. people say the 2 piece are better but i bought the one piece at the time and its fine.

to go fom your standard head unit you will need a harness adaptor, an aerial adaptor and a fascia plate.

i was thinking could i get the lead into the glove box?

just speaker covers i think. probably for the 10 speaker system

i bought the head unit tonight. i just need to think of somewhere descent to fit the USB/Ipod lead.

any ideas?

If you dont want the USB/Ipod lead on show you can easily feed it into the glovebox without having to make any holes

+1 glovebox is easy to route stuff into

oh and woots - the covers in the doors are just covers for the upgraded hifi system... just waiting for some extra speakers which some on here have done - can't remember which ones ...

Im going for the ipod ashtray dock setup from Baveriansoundwerks. Doesnt look too difficult to install ..............

When i upgraded my front speakers with 2 way components i placed the tweeters in the door to reduce seperation from the mid. Was also alot easier and makes it easy to revert back to stock. I dont use the rears at all as they sound rubbish, i think there only mid or have some kind of inline filter as they cant handle the top end.

On the 6 speaker system the door is fitted with blanking plates, item number 1....

Might look into fitting some..got some 120 watts in my room..
Would prob need an amp tho? Which ive bloody just sold...
Arrgghhh :headbang:

Am I right in saying that all of the speaker spaces (inc the ones behind the seats) are there to add aftermarket speakers into? Would expect wiring to be a mare thou ???

yes those are real speakers.

I think the 2 mid/tweeters behind the headrests are standard. However, there are 2 spaces lower down that house woofers that are included on HIFI/Carver packages but not on standard package. Guys correct me if im wrong here.

Ohh sorry srhutch i thought u meant the little speakers were just spacers to add speakers if u want them...

Didint realise u meant like the massive holes that i use as a place to put my coat or whatevvv  So yeah Mafoo you are correct also

Behind the seats you have 2 4" mids at the top and either storage boxes(6 speaker system) or subwoofers(10 speaker system)

The 6 speaker system is easy to upgrade because it doesnt use any external amps so the speakers are wired directly to the headunit, the rear mids are a real pain to get to though which involves removing all the trim and center consol.

I notice on your signature that you have installed a pair of 12" subs in your Z. How have you installed these ?

Simples.....

I plan to Imprint the system soon using alpines PXA-H100, and then change the 2 subwoofers to something like a JL 10w6v2 in a custom box or stick with 2 subs and go for 12w3v3's

ps. I can still fit my golf clubs and trolley in the back :)

If you have the MFSW you can get a lead to retain usage, which reminds that I must chase ice direct up to see where mine is.

i dont have a MFSW :(

i think i will go for the glove box. i would have put it through the center console into the little bin infront of the storage but the lead is primarily a USB with an Ipod adapter that attaches to it.
i use a USB usually as i only ever really listen to music in the car but 'the passenger :x ' uses an IPod so i need both.

has the space in the door for a speaker go wiring already there?
iv just fitted cruise and the wiring for that was there, wondering if it is the same case??

Nope no wire for speaker in the door, the 6 and 10 speaker systems and different wiring harness due to one coming from the amp and one from teh headunit.

The setup in the Z4 is good though as it allows you to easily fit a 3 way component.
