Alpina users: Does your car burble and pop at deceleration?

Hello guys,

as i don´t own an Alpina myself, but used to compare maps stock bmw vs. Alpina to find interesting changes to reverse-engineer, i stumbled upon one map i´m currently curious about. Its related to deceleration conditions where you let off the throttle and let the car slow down.

In that situations, does the engine "backfire" through the exhaust? Obviously it would be dampened as hell by the cats and all the silencers, but i guess it should give a nice popping sound?!

Oh yes! Lovely pops & burbles on the overrun

Do miss my JCW for huge pops & bangs on overrun.

Much prefer the Z tho

Our JCW used to pop a treat, the zed does a bit but not as much. I did a couple of track days a few years ago on my R6 at the time, now that did pop and bang, didn't do it half as much when road riding.

Sorry not an Alpina owner but i do like a pop and bang

Ooohhh Yes.
Are you thinking of buying one ?

Honestly? No.

I´m just working on reverse-engineering its ecu to have full control when going forced induction. My aim is to get a E46 325ti, convert it to 3L and put the turbo from a N55 onto it. Already purchased the charger and modified it for the M54 head. So right now we are working on the software side

If anyone of you is able to do some outside video/audio shooting of such exhaust crackle its highly appreciated :)
