ALPINA B1O 3.3

My local BMW Indi has had this Alpina B10 up for sale for ages and ages,

http://www.jbsas.co.uk/project/alpina-bio-2001-5350/

Anyone know much about them? power output and how many were made? Unsure of the mileage but I'm guessing quite high as its an ex diplomatic car. Looks to be a good price if the car is in good nick. If quite rare I'm tempted but the Z3 would have to go :(

Have a look on the Alpina forum, Tim (thealpinaregister.com). Most Alpinas are logged there, so a lot of detail on history. Also, there is a wealth of information and some pretty knowledgeable members.

BTW - believe its the same engine as in the Alpina Roadsters....

IIRC, The B10 3.3 has the same engine as the E46-based B3 3.3 (280 bhp), the Alpina Roadster has the later, and more powerful, 3.4 engine that was also in the B3s

Yep, now you mention it, that's my understanding as well. B3s, not B3 is our bigger, lardier brother :D

Nice car though fantastic colour

Wood trim? I could forgive - it's period for around time of mfr so in keeping

Would like to know miles though

@ Titan Tim
I drive the E39 Alpina B10 4.6 touring since 6 years and around 90.000 kilometers.
The E39 had a lot of problems and cost me a lot of money.
My advice: keep your Z3 :-)

I appreciate the last couple of posts are a little old now but did you find out anymore about it Tim? Mileage and where it's been?
Assume you're not going to add this to the collection?

I like it, looks like a nice example and the 'wood' is certainly in keeping of it's time.

Thanks guys, I did have a serious think about the car but decided to pass on it in the end as decided to say me pennies and replace my M135i next year.

I was looking at either a Cayman or an M2, the Cayman which I've looked at I'm just put off slightly by the options costs which can rocket but could go for a base car. The M2 I'm unsure what BMW are thinking of as their PCP deals are looking similar to an M3s :scratchhead: I can see me going for another M135i or a 235i, I've been very happy with the 135i but just wished BMW would import the Xdrive model but still think they're a steal at the price for what you get.
