Alloys from an E36 will fit on a Z4?

Could someone advise if alloys taken off an E36 will fit on a Z4? The tyres on the alloys on the E36 have the following specs - 215/45ZR17. As you know, the Z4 tyres read 255/35R18. :?

The tyre sizes tells you very little about the wheel.

Do you know what offset & width they are - or even the model of wheel?

Thanks for your reply, mmm-five!
The other "number" I've read off the alloys is 7.5Jx17H2.
There's also the number 1770 etched on the alloy - if it means anything :?
Unfortunately there no hint as to the model of the alloys. Could've uploaded a pic if I knew how :(

I believe the e36 uses the same range of offsets (et35-50), bore (72.6mm) and PCD (5x120) as a non-M Z4, so in theory they should fit.

That is assuming they're genuine BMW e36 wheels - otherwise you'd have to find the offset stamped on the wheel somewhere.

Here's a useful site for searching BMW alloys and getting info on them.
Thanks for your advise, mmm-five. I shall see if I can read more numbers off the alloys tomorrow. I'm keen to use these for the winter if they fit..the alloys are not original BMW.
Shall I just try and fit them, or is that just a daft thing to do?

If they've been on an e36 then they should fit. Just be careful to check clearances against the arches/struts before you do any sort if distance on them.
