Alloys 18 or 19 inch....

Sorry if this yet another topic flogged to death, forgive me I'm pretty new on here!

I have opted to go black alloys and so far I am not aware of any original BMW alloys that come in black for the Z4 (E85), specifically 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear. I currently have some spiral design OEM BMW 17 inch rims with 225/45 tyres front and back.

My question is that having had a look around for some decent black rims they are going to be non-OEM.... is that good or bad? Will 19 inch rims look too big? If not will 19x9 on the front rub on full lock with 235 tyres (correct offset of course!)? Should I stick with 18 inch?

Here is a link to the wheelsI am looking at (sorry if they're laddish!): http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/19_Inch_Fondmetal_9GR_Nickel_Black_Alloy_Wheels__1291

Have been told the 18 inch this design only comes 18x8, no 8.5 which means I cannot fit wider rears which would be a pity. Sorry for all the waffle. Really greatful for any advice

Cheers

Hi Arif,

Its all personal preference (as most things) really. IMO 19's sometimes look a little overbearing (read: 'blingy') compared to the overall look and feel of the car, although with black wheels you may not have that problem. I went for anthracite grey 18's and am happy with the arch fill. I got staggered 8.5 rears too so all good.

You should look at M Style and BM Autosport too...

Good luck

Hey thanks for the tips. My ideal choice would have been the 269 design in black but no option for this! Will certainly keep hunting and thanks again.

Cheers

X2 with Inkey$ comments. 18's give a more balanced look. Would guess that 19's give a very hard ride also........
