Alarm System

It would appear that my Zed does not have an alarm system, I have checked under the hood/bonnet for a microswitch at the V of the cross brace and there is not one present, I then checked to see if the car is pre wired for an alarm and the wiring does not appear to be present either.
I was under the impression that Zeds came pre wired so the alarm system can be retrofitted, can anyone advise if in fact they are pre wired or not?
If they are not then probably the most cost effective way is to fit an aftermarket system but that will probably mean another fob which I would like to avoid if at all possible.

Check your vin online, I thought all UK cars had an alarm. Perhaps a previous has removed it?

It's an import from Japan so maybe alarm was never fitted but I expected it to be pre wired.

Checked my VIN and option S5GAA (Alarm Prep Pack) is not listed which explains why I cannot find any wiring.....
It looks like I'm limited to fitting a 3rd party alarm system without immobilizer.

Think in all the time ive been on here ive only seen like 1 be nicked.

If you had a 30k 140i with keyless go then i'd be concerned- i wouldnt loose any sleep over the lack of alarm

An alarm will give you early warning if someone is messing with the car and maybe prevent additional damage been done, just would have liked one fitted, I have found a "Toad A850T" alarm which integrates with the BMW immobilizer which I am considering.
