Alarm Issues

The Z4 is under warantee but not getting the best support from the dealer. I would much rather just be able to lock the car and not even have an alarm as I don't really need one where I live; but I guess that isn't straight forward to disable?

just looked at the link, the E46 Coupe is lovely, i used to have one. however, did you buy the red compact like that? or where you responsible for the tasteful mods ?

The RED coupe was completely standard and spent a lot of time and money on it. It was my pride and joy so will always keep that one for sentimental reasons.. :wink:
 
Ok, so got to the bottom of it :)

I dropped it off to the dealer who had the eclectrics / alarm tested and it appears to be a faulty "TILT SENSOR".
Cost about £80 for the part which they have ordered and of course be paying the bill for the part and fitting.

In the meentime until the part arrives they have disabled the tilt sensor and I can now at least lock my car without the alarm going off.. 8)

Glad yo ugot it. It was on my list however that's easy to say and it could be any one of many things and you'd spend ages hunting for which one and of course wasting money and time.

Love the island BTW - done a lap in a SWB Landie of the TT course last year - probably not the fastest ever...lol
 
Ok, so it's now been over 3 months and still not had a call to get this new sensor fitted :headbang:

If I go to the dealer and ask for the part can anyone assist with the location of the sensor and I will fit it myself? :thumbsup:

Just chase them up, maybe you missed their call or something. If it's a warranty job would let them sort it out.
