Alarm goes off if i park on a hill

Hi,

I've never noticed this before as i park my Z4 outside my house on a flat even road.

When i parked on a hill recently the alarm kept going off.

The same happened when i parked sideways on a small incline, the alarm keeps going off.

Is there any reason why parking on a hill would activate the alarm when there isn't anyone or anything near or left in the car?

it's going off parked on a flat level road now too. No one or anything near to it. Just going off randomly for no reason. Any ideas why, doesn't seem to be tilt sensor now if its happening on the flat too?

A while ago, someone had their battery going dead and caused similar problems. May want to check that

was there a wind blowing by any chance?

could be that the sensitivity of your alarm is set too high.

i have a similar problem with mine.

in any case, when you go to lock the car if you press the lock button twice on the key and then insert the key into the driver door and turn it left (anti-clockwise) twice, it will disable the alarm for you.

it was the bonnet sensor. It had tirggered 17 times. Local BMW garage ran diagnostics, replaced it and reset it and its been fine ever since!

Ah yes, the good old bonnet sensor, don't know why they never just recalled them, so many seem to fail, and the Z3 was the exact same.

Mines booked in tomorrow. Alarm keeps going off and only does it in warm weather. Strangely enough, a colleagues 1 series does the same and he's sorted it by replacing the bonnet sensor.
