Airbag Troubleshoot

Hi all!

I'm preparing my car for the MOT equivalent here in Iceland. It failed on a few issues the last time I tried to get it through and I have since gotten all those issue fixed.
One problem remains though and it's a biggy. The airbag light is constantly on.

Let me start by saying that I have had a few prolonged power-outs on the car.
For various reasons it hasn't been driven for months on end and the battery has gone completely flat 3 or 4 times.
However, if I remember correctly (and I might be mistaken) the airbag light was already there before I stopped using the car (Sep 2011).

Anyway, I have hooked the car up to an ODB2 device and reset a couple of error codes but nothing shows up in relation to the airbag light.
I've combed the threads on the forum and I've seen various suggestions as to what might be wrong (occupancy sensor, airbag control unit, etc) and how to fix them (new sensor, sensor bypass, piece of black tape, etc).

My question is this, as most the parts for the airbag system are quite expensive, what would be the best, cheapest, most logical or easiest way to troubleshooting this problem?
What to start with and where to go from there?

Does anyone have experience with this and/or know of any helpful guides?

I would recommend hooking up DIS v57 software and find out what is causing the light. If its the passenger seat occupancy sensor then get a bypass off ebay and reset light.
If its something else let us know or get a second hand part.

I have an ODB2 bluetooth module.
Is that going to work with the DIS software?
Also, where might I get the software?

You could get cable and software off ebay

Or for easy installation but more expensive
