Airbag light troubleshooting

Had to replace the passenger door lock actuator. While working to put everything back together (getting the dam glass back into position) I probably turned the ignition on with the airbag harness unplugged. Now the airbag warning light is on and won't reset. Scan of the system returned the following codes:
SBSR: 98EA - Firing circuit resistance to low, right thorax airbag
SRS: 93E7 - SIM undervoltage

Any pointers/advice on how to address this is greatly appreciated!

A decent code reader should reset those ok. What do you have?
I know both my Autophix 7910 and INPA will do it ok.
Unless of course you have faults, but that's a hell of a coincidence.

Also check you haven't disturbed the yellow plug to the left side of the battery.

While in there, try the hack of disconnecting the battery for half an hour. That does occasionally work too.

PS. I know it's no use to you now, but may help others reading this: you don't need to remove the glass or the regulator assembly at all to get the actuator out. It's a wiggle to do it, but saves a lot of grief.

Thanks for the reply Enuff_zed, my independent mechanic read the codes and reset them but they came right back. Steps I've taken include leaving the battery negative terminal disconnected for over 24 hours, cleaning all connectors in the door wiring harnesses with electric contact cleaner and letting them dry thoroughly. Terminal in battery compartment is tight. Have searched everywhere for these specific codes with no luck.
If you can remove the lock actuator without removing the regulator your a better man than I. Tried for a couple hours before giving up!

The SIM85 undervoltage is sometimes a sign it is on its way out. Something to do with a 'step up converter' inside the module, often killed off by jump starting the car. Doesn't like the voltage spike.
The SBSR code is more obviously linked to the door you just had apart, and it's associated airbag.
Check that the plug on that airbag is correctly fitted. It has a small plastic tag on the back of the plug that you would have had to prise up to remove the plug. That is more than just a locking device. It also makes (or breaks - not sure) a connection in the back of the plug. If it has pinged off and disappeared, or not been pushed back in properly, you will get faults with that airbag.
I think you should check that first then see what you are left with.

Good call enuff_zed regarding that small plastic tag on the airbag connection, it has to be on it to achieve the correct resistance to the unit. One of our Zedshed Cymru members had this issue after he had been messing with the door, lucky enough Umfaan on here called in and pinpointed the cause straight away and had a replacement harness to hand with the tag intact. Put that in and airbag light cleared.

I’m not likely to forget that issue Colin

Thanks for the support! Found that the black "U" clip on the airbag connector was not completely seated. Have set it properly. Light is still on but know it must be cleared to see if the fault persists. Have imposed on my mechanic twice now to scan and reset codes and he has never charged me even after offering him $50 each time. He's a good guy and a great mechanic but is swamped and can't get the car in till September. Ordered the Carly scanner and software a week ago but DHL has not processed it yet, four days and counting... Not impressed.
