So recived my lovely new steering wheel from royal steering wheels but now the Airbag light is on after I changed it
Now the weird thing is it did not come straight on it only seems to of come on now I have put a new battery in
Any help would be great
Jay

Disconnecting the battery won't reset the airbag light it either needs as Number5 says to go into a specialist, or buy a cable & software and DIY
It's likely the steering wheel but equally could be co-incidental. Battery change won't be the cause

They are doing it :D

So ask to reset it first
If not the mot guy has to fail it, Someone resets the light retested and passes. Your history forever then has an airbag light fail

Hi Jay

I have this same issue, I have the fault diagnosed as " Airbag comms fail channel 1/2 " when I was changing the wheel for some reason the slip ring rotated around through about 30-45 degrees. This meant the pegs wouldn't locate on the steering wheel without correcting this. I duly rotated the slip ring back around, only to feel a slight resistance and a snapping sound. Thinking no more of it I refitted everything and tbh I wasn't unduly surprised when the light was on after refitting.

Not sure if this what's happened with you, but just offering that as a suggestion.

Airbag light will not go off just for fixing the issue. It needs to be plugged in. Forgive the wording but you'll be pissing in the wind just tampering with bits and not knowing what.
I had one on for ages that randomly popped up and it was related to a rear pillar... a pillar that doesn't exist on a convertible nor have an airbag located anywhere around that point.
But they do not go off on their own.

Ah right very useful to know I dident touch anything and 100 % sure nothing moved the light also dident come stright on it seemed to of come on as soon as the others went out strange
AnywAy will get it scanned see what the fault is hopefully it something simple

So cars back from mot all passed but the airbag light turns out not to be anything todo with the steering the fault has come up the a incorrect sensor in passenger door airbag strange as I haven’t touch any of that

Lucky to get a pass with an airbag light showing. Normally an automatic fail

As above I did have to replace the passenger side harness as it was trigerring an airbag light. Had not touched that area for months, but fitted cleared and it never returned. Message sounds like something disconnected or harness faulty, check the door to wing connector is secure

Where is that found ?

Open the door and you'll see the convoluted tube. It has a connector at one end. From memory a couplr of torx hold it in
Harness is obviously on the inside of the door. Run to the airbag as well as all other electricals. Check the connections, although nothing will turn off the light without a reset

Ok I will check

I might try the other battery again as I got a 62amp battery on now and I took a 72amp battery off
