Airbag light: code 9485, SIM85 INPA

My 03 Z4 seems to activate the airbag warning light after a hard bump or other randomness and report error 9485 "clamp r signal inconsistent". I think it's a wiring issue. It would not surprise me if some wires in the driver's side loom have fatigued for instance.
"Klemme R signal inkonsistent" is the German INPA description.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
