Airbag ECU

Well regardless of how the vin goes in, I stick by my theory that there are no faults per se on the OPs module, just saying it has wrong vin and wrong system time.
The only thing with that is the fact that usually you only get the wrong vin code first. Until that is entered the module doesn’t know which car it is in and therefore doesn’t know what system time it should be looking for.
Normal sequence of events is enter the vin and then that code disappears and the system time one crops up.
Still sounds like a coding confusion rather than an actual fault.
OP, are you using the ‘alternative’ WinKFP method as that seems the best for me.

Enuff_zed, I am using the whole VIN as displayed on the dash.
Please describe the alt Winfpk method.
Thanks
I thought you were using the TomR instructions? Ignore the start and go to the bottom of page one where it says alternative method

Yes, I followed the alt method using update ZUSB and it automatically chose 695146. Perhaps I entered the Vin prior to selecting the family however from the pic I posted earlier the VIN is displayed during the flash.

Where are you?

Please see Winfpk UIF info for Sim85, it has the correct last digits displayed for the vin. When I look at another model in the air bag system the vin is displayed as Yyyyyyyy, this is same for the original entry on Sim85.

Looking at all the airbag modules, SBSL2 and SRSR2 have the funky yyyyyy VIN associated with them. STVL2 and STVR2 would not report in Winfpk UIF, it would error out, no response from unit.
I only changed out the main sim85 module, should I flash SBSL2 and SRSR2 with the VIN.
What is the reason for the yyyyy VIN on these other two modules.

Alright, I am posting a follow up to this issue.
My original sim module is part number 6938263 and I replaced it with 6928963, I then replaced it again with a used 6938263 that finally worked using TomRs guide.
