Air Conditioning button?

Hi.
I only got my G29 yesterday, so bear with me😀
But, how do you turn off the AC, I can’t find a button that does it? Surely you don’t have to delve into iDrive menus…?

Welcome aboard with your lovely G29.

Silly question but didn't it come with an Owners' Manual?

BMW also have instructional videos on their website / Youtube with all you need to know.

PS Welcome

there's an AC meno button on the dash - then untick AC, or program one of the hotkeys to go straight to it.

I use the above mentioned AC Menu button, it’s also possible through Idrive menus. I have to agree that it’s not very intuitive, on my wife’s Audi there is a button on the dash that says AC and that’s it!

Welcome to the forum :)

Perhaps we could Google it for him as well :)

So press the ac menu button and it’s in there.

However, I would always recommend keeping it on. It helps with circulating the oil and prevents seals drying up.

It also helps with condensation inside.

My recommendation is always keep it on (speaking as a man who used to work in ac industry)

This was going to my comment too. In my old car, Smart reccomend you run the AC at least once a week to keep the oils flowing. I just left it on, and adjusted the heat setting if it was too cold.

Also in a soft-top car, dehumidifying the cabin on the regular makes a lot of sense because it will be more prone to damp than a tin-top.

As for affecting the MPG, i got over 45mpg on a long cruise the other day with the AC on. Given the car is advertised 38-39 combined that seems pretty reasonable.
