Air-con?

Is the air con normally pretty good in the Z4? I'm trying to work out whether it needs regassing or is just crap by design?
 
I was thinking how crap mine seems this morning... seems ok on full cold mode, but anything else and it doesnt feel like an AC at all.

What do you mean?

I set the temperature and leave the thing on auto. If I need a cold burst I press the button and/or increase the fan speed.

If you want auto mode you need to leave the fan speed dial fixed - just adjust the temperature dial. I made that mistake at first and never got the effect I wanted.
 
Mine works great! 110 (f) in Phoenix weekend before last and I stayed nice and comfy. Set it on 70 and left it alone. :thumbsup:
Having a light colored interior and top helps tremendously too!

If I have auto selected or the speed dial set makes no difference to the temp in my car. If the temp is rock bottom it blows cold-ish, if it is one notch off the bottom it isnt cold... and the temp in the UK isn't v.warm really. The air con in the TT was much cooler.

Mine used to do exactly that, one notch up is too warm. Not very good air con considering the size of the cabin, it's only small.
 
My 2003 work as good as any I've had. Blast out cold within a minute or less and it's been over 100 degrees every day in phoenix for almost the past month.
 
Mine is a bit iffy from time to time. It's as if the temp sensor's stuck. But it only seems to play up if I have had the air con set to a higher temp and then turn it right down, doesn't seem to adjust the temp at all.

But when it's on cold it's really cold!

Yeah, it is just like the sensor is stuck.
