Air con Leg Vent

Does anyone know of a way to shut or turn off the air con vent that's down at knee level? Maybe someone somewhere's made a plug or something to cap it off? Sick of my knee getting roasted whenever I need to put the heater on to warm my feet up.

Roll of black duct tape would do it Jon, then easily removed when the weather warms up and you don't need so much heat. Admittedly that vent does get too hot for the knee.

Possibly a daft theory (by no means my first, or last), but I've never really noticed this problem on mine?
Wonder if it's more prevalent on autos, where your left leg stays in front of the vent?
On my manual version, my leg is normally stretched much further out as I'm on and off the clutch.

Not so sure..mines a manual and it gets on my nerves a bit too sometimes

So far as I am aware the heating system changes when the roof is opend or closed, seem to remember reading this somewhere. I thought the knee vent was only used to the max when the roof was open and hardly used at all when it is closed.
Might be worth experimenting/researching

Mines a manual but i am 6ft1 so don't really have my legs fully stretched out.

The roof open/closed thing isn't something I've noticed. I have the roof open 90% of the time i drive the car but given the rain and snow its been up this week which is when I've noticed it getting v hot. Appreciate the design intention of keeping the body warm with the roof down but it just points directly at your knee. Must've been the start of BMWs design disasters and just snowballed from there :rofl:
