Air bag/ crash sensors

Apparently according to diagnostics, the reason my air bag warning light in the dash is staying on is I have 2 defective sensors in the front of the car. I was told in order to change them the front fascia needs to come off the car to get at the sensors so they can be replaced. It's a 2005 Z4 3.0.
Has anyone had this done or has anyone attempted to do this repair themselves? I really don't know the exact location of the sensors. I find it hard to believe that 2 of them have gone bad. The car only has 24,000 miles on it and hasn't seen any winter driving. I wouldn't be surprised to find just corroded connections to be the culprit. I was quoted $355.00 for the complete repair.
I thought I'd see if it were something I could do at home but if it really does require removing the front nose piece I think I'd just forget about it and let the dealer do the work. :headbang:
