Aftermarket Wheels

Hi, What are people's thoughts on aftermarket wheels, is the quality up to much? I am after some 18", MV2 style I think they're called, on Ebay there are several places selling them for around £500 with tyres. One thing I noticed is that they are the same width all round compared with the genuine BMW ones which are wider at the back, would that be a problem? My Z4 is a 2006 2.5si if that makes any difference.

Paul, A quick search will reveal enough threads to keep you going for a few days....... CSLs, MV.....whatevers, BBS, Alpina, Schnitzer etc etc
 
imo if they cost £500 with tyres they will come with cheapo ditchfinder tyres, as even cheap Falkens will cost atleast £400 for a set.

Have to agree with that at an average of £125 per corner when a single Bridgestone RFT is £200+ then you have to ask youself if you want a high performance car shod on tyres and alloys like that. :thumbsdown:

Aside that as Alan says do some searching - it's all there
 
As you will find elsewhere on this forum, there are a number of specialist BMW alloy suppliers for both new and refurbed OEM and aftermarket rims.

You wouldn't go far wrong looking at BM Autosport for a set of quality rims. A very knowledgable and helpful company.
 
They are normally heavier and i would say more likely to break, but BMW wheels are not the best, so probably less likely to break :lol:

You can get an original set for £300 ish with tyres, and get a decent set and your laughing :)
 
Thanks for the good advice. I had a look at the BM Autosport website, the prices aren't too outrageous so I may go for some wheels fom them. My 16"ers shod with lovely runflats still have a few miles left in them so in the meantime I'll keep looking on here for some good used ones :thumbsup:
