AFTERMARKET STEREO AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS

First off, I can not find anyone who manufactures any aftermarket faceplate to flushly envelop an aftermarket stereo, so I guess I am going to have my shop custom make one.
Second, I can not find a wiring kit so I can continue using the steering wheel buttons to control my aftermarket stereo. I have a Kenwood Excelon XDC-X993, and even Crutchfield who sells the wiring, states it will not fit in the Z4-M. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SWIJACK/PAC-SWI-JACK.html?tp=3405

I don't believe you will find a faceplate that will fit 100% flush due to the size of a din radio and the angle of said unit.

Regarding interface controls you might be able to butcher an interface for an E46 is one exists as they should be similar but I wouldn't put money on it.

Also within the thread towards the bottom of the 2nd page is a link to a company called In Car tec http://www.incartec.co.uk/assets/files/Audio Steering Control 2010.pdf I used their kit when fitting my Alpine X-305 head unit, I can control the volume and fast forward / rewind tracks on my iPod connected to the HU from the MFSW. I've never had bluetooth or a phone connected to the MSFW so can't comment on whether that will work or not.

They provided next day service for me, however they are UK based but may be able to help out.
